Edmodo

Edmodo is a classroom management tool and social network specially designed for teacher-student-parents, where teachers can make group invitations to their students, write messages to them, create Quizzes and share course documents, and has a very strong security setting.


What Can Be Done With Edmodo?

Activities can be held in small groups by creating different structures in the classroom.

File and folder sharing can be done.

The deadline for entry can be set for Homework, Surveys and Quizzes.

It is possible to message with different users.

Announcements can be made to students.

It can be used not only for educational purposes but also as a social network.

Parents can follow their students if they want.

Homework can be given to students. The deadline for delivery can be determined. Grades can be given to students who have submitted their homework. Grade average of homework can be seen.

Quizzes can be given to students. Students' scores can be seen according to the answers.

Surveys can be made to students. Thanks to the surveys, a democratic classroom environment can be created.

By forming small groups, activities and tasks can be given to a certain student group in a classroom.

How to Use Edmodo?

To use Edmodo, you must first log in.

After teachers are logged in, first of all for classroom management they should create their classes and add their students.

Creating a class: To create a class, they must click Create Class from the Classes section on the left side of the page while on the home page.

In the window that opens, enter the class name, level (which class it is and course information. You can also assign a color in order to distinguish the classes. After entering the information, click the Create button.

After creating the class, you need to add your students to the class.

Adding students to the class: To add students to the class, enter the class you created from the left menu.

In the classroom, you will see the Add Student button on the right. Clicking on it will give you a class code to add students. Students can join the class using this code. Or you can invite your students to the class via e-mail.

After you add students to the class, you can start doing some activities for them.

Activities that can be done: You can announce an announcement to your students under the Posts menu, do a survey, do a Quiz or give homework while in the classroom.

Creating subgroups within the class: To create a subgroup within a class, click on Create a Small Group from the left menu, just below the class, while your class is selected. You can type in the name of your small group and say "create". With small groups, you can do activities and define tasks for certain student groups in a classroom.

Adding Announcement: To add an announcement, you can type your announcement while in the Note section from this menu. Depending on your preference, you can publish your announcement to your students by adding a link, file, library or Google Drive file to your announcement from the same menu. You can set the announcement to be published at a future date in the announcement settings. When you publish your announcement, students will receive a paper.

Adding Homework: If you want to assign an assignment to students, you enter the Homework title, the Due date from the Homework menu, and make the necessary settings (such as the setting for the upload process to close after the upload date), and then send it to the students by clicking Submit Assignment. Optionally, you can add a link and a file attachment to the assignment. To see the submitted assignments, click the Delivered button on the assignment. You can see the assignments in detail in the window that opens.

Creating a Quiz: If you want to create a Quiz, click the Create a Quiz button on the Quiz menu. Then, write the title of the question in the window that opens and choose the type (Multiple Choice, True-False, Short Answer, Fill In The Gaps, Matching). After selecting the question type, write the Quiz according to this question type and after completing it, click on the Done button on the right. After this process, it will return to the main menu. After specifying the end date, you can publish the Quiz by clicking the Submit button. Click the Submitted button in Your Quiz under Posts to view the Answered Quizzes.

Creating a Poll: If you want to create a poll, simply type the poll question and answers from the Poll menu and click Send. Survey response rates will appear under Posts and on your home page.

See Class Members: To see the members in your class, you must click Members from the menus under the class you created. Here you can see your students and other members.

Joining another class: To join another class, select Join a Class from the left menu from the Home page. You can join later by writing the group code for that class.
